Family reunification is an immigration priority for Canada. To be a sponsor you need to be at least 18 years old and:

Citizen of Canada or
permanent resident of Canada
person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act or

You can sponsor your spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner, dependent children, Parents and Grandparents, Orphaned relatives, and adopted children.

If an Inland Spousal Sponsorship Application is refused, it is not eligible for an Appeal.

However, Outland Spousal Sponsorship applications are eligible and an appeal must be filed within 30 days of the refusal.

If you are a citizen or permanent resident of Canada and at least 18 years old, you can sponsor certain relatives to come to Canada.
